TRANSALP LA VIA DEL SALE LIMONE-SANREMO

An adventure from the 2000-plus metres of the Alps to the deep blue waters of Liguria, discovering nature parks and protected areas via their main artery, the spectacular VIA DEL SALE.

A white ex-military road set between 1800 and 2100 metres that traces the Italian-French border across the Maritime Alps. From Charlemagne to Napoleon to the Savoy Forts at the end of the 19th century, we will retrace its origins and admire its immense panoramas in the saddle of our bikes through alpine passes, vertiginous hairpin bends and kilometres of road carved into the rock. As we descend in altitude, it will be enchanted forests, olive groves and small villages that will accompany us to the sea.

To gladden our pauses and our palates, the rich refreshments along the route will be catered for with products of the local enogastronomy, first from Piedmont and then from Liguria, for a discovery of the territory under one of its most beloved aspects: the table! The Ciclabile a Mare and the blue waters of the Ligurian Sea were there to reward our arrival and relieve our fatigue.
